Which Injectable is Right For Me?

Botox®, Xeomin®, Juvéderm®, Radiesse®, Belotero Balance®, Which Injectable is Right For Me?

Signs of aging can sneak up on you without warning and make you look older than you feel. Fortunately, there are several painless, nonsurgical ways to help turn back the clock — or at least make it look like you did.

If you live in the New York City area, you have access to one of the country’s most trusted experts in the business — Dr. Craig Foster of Foster Your Beauty on Park Avenue. He specializes in boosting your confidence through cosmetic treatments that leave you looking naturally beautiful.

If you and Dr. Foster decide that an injectable is the way to go, he helps you navigate the many products and procedures that can help you achieve your goals. Each one works a little differently, but they are all effective at reducing your wrinkles and making your skin appear smoother, firmer, and younger.

Here are the primary injectable treatments Dr. Foster provides.

Botox®

Each time you smile or frown, you contract your facial muscles, which, of course, makes your skin crease. Over time, your skin loses its youthful elasticity and no longer springs back like it used to, so the wrinkles stay put. Sadly, crow’s feet and frown lines are telltale signs of aging. If yours are giving away too much information, Botox Cosmetic is an excellent option.

As you sit comfortably, Dr. Foster injects the Botox directly into the facial muscles around your eyes, which blocks the neurotransmitters that allow muscle contraction in those areas. Once the muscles stop contracting, the wrinkles smooth out and you look younger.

You’re in and out of the office in no time, as the treatments generally take only 15-30 minutes. And there’s generally no downtime or side effects. If you opt for Botox — the most popular FDA-approved treatment for crow’s feet and frown lines — you can expect to walk out of Dr. Foster’s office looking younger than you have in years.

Xeomin®

Much like Botox, Xeomin temporarily blocks the nerve impulses that cause the contractions in your facial muscles. The main difference between the two products is that Botox contains various proteins that are meant to protect the molecules of the neurotoxin. But Xeomin contains only a single pure ingredient, which may mean your body won’t build up antibodies against it, so the results may last longer.

Juvéderm®

Juvéderm is one of the most popular dermal fillers Dr. Foster uses to add volume to your skin. This gel-like solution contains hyaluronic acid — which is a type of carbohydrate your body produces — and it’s great for those “parentheses” that frame your mouth and for the little vertical lines above your lip. Dr. Foster can customize the density of the solution for different applications.

Radiesse®

Radiesse is a dermal filler like Juvéderm, but has a slightly different ingredient. This product uses calcium hydroxylapatite, similar to what’s found in teeth and bones, but it’s suspended in a water-based gel solution that stimulates your own collagen production. Eventually, your body absorbs the calcium and the gel with no adverse effects. Because Radiesse is a bit thicker than Juvéderm, it works well on deeper creases and is most frequently used to treat wrinkles and folds on your face, as well as your chin, jowls, and the backs of your hands.

Belotero Balance®

With its low-density, hyaluronic-based gel solution, Belotero Balance is a great choice for super fine lines and wrinkles. Like Juvéderm, Belotero is perfect for thin skin and can be tailored to your needs, but it is generally injected higher up in the dermis layer of your skin. Both give outstanding results.

All of the injectables Dr. Foster administers are FDA-approved and considered safe to use. Regardless of your treatment choice, each of these procedures:
